Project Description > In Fall 2010, the Town of Swansboro and NCDOT commissioned Alta/Greenways to prepare a bicycle transportation plan. The project Kick-Off Meeting took place in December 2010, followed by the second committee meeting and first public workshop in February 2011. In March 2011 more than eighty people stopped by the Bicycle Plan public input table at the Swansboro Business Expo. Feedback was positive and supportive of improving conditions for bicycling in Swansboro. The draft plan was developed in April and May, followed by a staff and committee review period during June and July. The draft plan will be presented to Town Council in August 2011.
