Project Description > Greenways Incorporated, teamed with Greene Transportation Solutions, was chosen to complete six action plans around the state of North Carolina. This is the first round of the SRTS Action Plan program, administered by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). The team is conducting an analysis of existing conditions and prioritizing engineering solutions surrounding the study schools. The final product will incorporate all Five E’s (engineering, education, encouragement, enforcement, and evaluation). As a comprehensive, action-oriented document, each plan will guide the community and school system in the development of facilities and programs to encourage more children to walk or bike to school in a safer environment.
