Project Description > Greenways Incorporated is working as a subconsultant to Stromberg/Garrigan & Associates in developing the Ohio River Trail Feasibility Study for multiple municipalities located in Southwestern Pennsylvania (Beaver County and Allegheny County). The intent of the Study is to provide a guide for the municipalities and other affected parties as to how to construct the proposed trail.
The approximate twelve (12) miles of trail will begin in Monaca Borough and terminate at the Montour Trail head. The majority of the preliminary Trail is intended to align with current and future public rights of way through the Monaca Industrial Park in Monaca Borough and the former LTV site that includes Monaca Borough, Center and Hopewell Townships, and the City of Aliquippa.
The project is funded through a Community Conservation Partnership Program planning grant provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and local community support.
