Town of Davidson Comprehensive Plan

Project Description > The Davidson Comprehensive Plan, scheduled for completion in late 2009/early 2010, will describe a vision for the long-term future of Davidson, with consideration of its regional context and growth trends. The plan will discuss ways to achieve a sustainable environment, efficient transportation, economically viable development, enduring citizen participation, diverse community, vibrant public spaces, and fiscal health. The plan will be a guide for land-use decisions and capital investment.

Greenways Incorporated (GWI) is part of a consulting team led by Rhodeside & Harwell, charged with developing the Plan.  GWI will focus on environmental and sustainability issues.  Topics under consideration for policy development are water resources, open space, material resources, energy and emissions, urban design, multi-modal transportation, and light/noise pollution controls.  GWI will help guide an environmental study group, formed of citizens and experts in the Town of Davidson, to determine priorities and policies for the Comprehensive Plan.
