Earth Conservancy Open Space Plan

Greenways Incorporated worked as a subconsultant to EDAW, Inc. in developing the trails and recreation component of the Earth Conservancy Open Space Master Plan. GWI's work focuses on the design development of the Escarpment Trail and three major recreational facilities along this route. These facilities will be developed on former mining lands, in an area that has suffered econimically since the decline of this industry, in order to promote tourism and sustainable economic growth. The Trail and associated facilities will provide visitors and residents with opportunities for hiking, cycling, ATV use, horseback riding, camping, fishing, and boating. GWI completed design guidelines for facility development, associated cost estimates, information on funding sources, and guidance for implementation and future management.
