Cary Parks, Greenways and Bikeways Plan, NC :

Greenways Incorporated served as prime contractor for the preparation of a comprehensive parks, greenways and bikeways master plan for the Town in which our company is located, Cary, North Carolina. Our team provided a full range of planning services that included an analysis of existing park, greenway and bikeway facilities, a public opinion survey of Town residents, community workshops, standards and facility recommendations, and a master plan with both written and graphic components. Community involvement was a key component of our planning process, involving the general public as well as a citizen steering committee, Town staff and Town Council members.

The park, greenway and bikeway recommendations contained within the final plan were based on citizen interest as well as needs identified by the Town. These recommendations ensure an interconnected system of greenways and bikeways, and a variety of passive and active park types which comprise a parks system to serve the entire population now and to the year 2010. Implementation recommendations were also developed, including cost estimates, project phasing and funding sources for parks, greenways and bikeways.
